substantiate:to verify, confirm

Example: To get a good grade on the research project, you must substantiate your report with provable facts.

surreptitious:secret, stealthy

Example: Your surreptitious bad habits will not stay unknown for long.

tactful:having or showing skill and sensitivity in dealing with others or with difficult issues.

Example: The doctor was tactful as he told the woman about her incurable illness.

tenacious:tending to keep a firm hold of something clinging or adhering closely

Example: The dog refused to release his tenacious grip on the little boy.

emulate:follow(verb)

Example: After thirty-seven years of war he set himself to emulate Asoka and became a patron of art and literature.

deleterious:harmful injurious

Example: This act, which was only decided upon after much hesitation had a most deleterious effect upon the national credit.

ımpetuous:acting done quickly without thought or care/moving carefully or rapidly

Example: Marrying someone you  hardly know is an impetuous decision!

digression:a temporary departure from the main subject in speech or writing

Examples

-The elderly professor would sometimes make a digression and talk about his wife’s flower beds instead of physics

-The flight between the two students was an unwelcome digression in the teacher’s organized classroom.

novice:a person that is new or inexperienced in a job or situation(beginner)

Examples

-Heis novice in programming. He just started a few weeks ago.

-The novice sailor didn’t know what to do when the storm come.

haughty:arrogantly superior and disdainful

the haughty british aristocrat seemed to look with contempt ro everyone else in the room

superficial:lacking in depth

Example:anything superficial has to do with the surface of something

my brother fell off his bike, luckily his wounds were superficial—this means his wounds aren’t anything serious permanent or life threatening

-your opinion on this book is superficial you haven’t even read it.

this means you can’t have deep knowledge of a book you never read. anything you know about a book you never read will be lacking in depth

reconciliation:agreement a quarrel.

Example:It is the act of getting two things to be compatible with one another the two countries had  reconciliation and signed the armistice

Exasperation:actions that cause great irritation (or even anger)

Examples:

-Abdurrahman had no option but to put his rebellious daughter Melis in therapy.

-The patients relatives looked at the unsuccessful doctor with exasperation.

Hackneyed:repeated too often ;overfamiliar through overuse

Example: I think Ankaranın Bağları is hackneyed song, it isn’t even funny anymore, it’s annoying to hear it again and again

Compromise:setting of a disagreement by making mutual concessions.

Example:Tom could tell that it would be impossible

Exemplary:Worthy of imitation, commendable

Example: Ayşe did such a great job on her English studies, her performance was exemplary

Frugal:economical in use or expenditure; prudently saving or sparing not wasteful

entailing little expense

Example:Kim probably as a frugal woman, its probably because she mostly shops on black friday and other sale seasons.

Inevitable:unable to avoided or escaped certain

Example:Kanye West’s defection to the dark side inevitable they made him study murder and then asked him to find peace.

subtle: Difficult  to perceive or understand having a deep meaning

Example:At first everyone thought the math exam was easy but as they answer the questions they started facing some subtle questions

prosaic:lacking imagination or originality common

Example:Eren presentation of his SAT words was not prosaic and everyone listened carefully, it was interesting and original

incompatible:not compatible unable to exist together in harmony

Example: she sued for divorce on the grounds of incompatibility.

vindicate: to show that someone is not guilty

Example:if you win the case it is vindicated, free from all blame

Benevolent:Desiring to help others, charitable

Example: The benevolent dog is helping its blind friend

Aesthetic: very pleasing to look at

Examples: The painting they saw in the museum was very aesthetically pleasing.

Mundane:lacking interest or excitement/ common; ordinary;banal; unimaginative

Example:We were dating six years so our relationship become a bit mundane after third year.

Submissive: inclined or ready to submit or yield to the authority of another, unresisting or humbly obedient.

Example: Natasha went back to her father in the other box, now quite submissive to the world she found.

Spontaneous: Something that happens suddenly without being planned.

Example: His jokes seemed spontaneous,but were in fact carefully prepared beforehand.

Extenuating: Acting to lessen the seriousness of guilty or an offence

Example: While there may be extenuating circumstances, there is no excuse for murder.
